Comfort written as a list, not a label

The operator calls the boat a luxury phinisi and puts a top class label on it. We print the label once and test it against the inventory, because a label is not a measurement. The measurements are about 31 m of length, a beam of 5.76 m, seven cabins, 16 guests overnight and three decks of traditional ironwood.

The comfort list, all of it on board: a freestanding bathtub and a private terrace in the Master Suite Ocean, a jacuzzi at the bow, a sun deck with loungers, a foredeck chill area, an indoor saloon with a wall TV, a covered dining deck with a barbecue, a karaoke set, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, and Starlink Wi-Fi.

Seven cabins for at most sixteen guests is the ratio that matters. Every cabin has air conditioning and its own bathroom, so the bathroom count equals the cabin count.

There is no star rating of any kind. The class label is the operator's, and we do not turn it into a promise of service.

The Master Suite Ocean in detail

One cabin carries the comfort claim: the Master Suite Ocean on the upper deck. It holds a double bed and a pull-out extra bed for a third guest. The en-suite bathroom has a freestanding bathtub, as the operator's photographs show. A private terrace faces the sea.

The cabin size is not published, so we give none. Hot water in the cabins is confirmed in writing before payment, and the tub is described as photographed, not as a promise of how it fills; a guest who cares about either asks us first.

The open-trip seat is IDR 9,500,000 (≈ USD 583) per person, two sharing, on the Friday & Monday sailings. A third guest on the extra bed pays IDR 3,750,000 (≈ USD 230) on that open-trip seat. Only one Master Suite Ocean exists, so the shared sailing offers one such cabin per date.

The cabin suits a couple who want the terrace, or two parents with one small child on the extra bed. It does not suit a guest who needs the fewest stairs: that guest takes the Master Ocean on the main deck.

Jacuzzi, sun deck and saloon: the comfort inventory

The inventory, by deck, with what each space does in a day at anchor.

Bow: a round whirlpool tub set into the deck, with the islands in front of it.
Sun deck: cushioned loungers and day beds for the long afternoon.
Foredeck: a chill area under a canopy, for shade.
Dining deck: covered and open-air, with a long table and a barbecue grill.
Saloon: indoors, with bench seating and a wall TV, for the rain.
Water: kayaks and stand-up paddle boards at anchor.

Karaoke and a Smart TV are on board. The Wi-Fi is Starlink; speed is not guaranteed, and coverage is not promised. A guest who needs to work online asks us first.

Across the three days the suite is the base: Day 1 ends at Kalong, Day 2 holds the long walks and Day 3 returns to Labuan Bajo. Seven cabins and these spaces share sixteen guests, so the jacuzzi is a shared amenity and not a private one. Whether it is in use at sunset depends on the party, not on a schedule.

What the top-class word leaves unsaid

A class label says nothing about what is not published. Here is the plain list, as it stands on 8 November 2026.

Hot water and wheelchair access are confirmed in writing before payment.

Two ways to sleep in the best cabin. A seat in the Master Suite Ocean on the shared 3D2N is IDR 9,500,000 (≈ USD 583) per person, with a second guest sharing the cabin. The whole boat for the same three days is IDR 162,000,000 (≈ USD 9,939), per boat, for 1 to 16 guests.

The gap is the whole boat. A family of eight on the whole boat pays IDR 20,250,000 (≈ USD 1,242) each, and gets seven cabins, the jacuzzi and the sun deck to itself. Sixteen pay IDR 10,120,000 (≈ USD 621) each. For two guests the whole boat is IDR 81,000,000 (≈ USD 4,969) each, which is a decision about privacy, not comfort per head.

The seat price includes a guide and photo and video documentation. The whole-boat price does not, and quotes them separately. The park package is quoted per trip type on both.

The operator labels the class, and the prices above are the 2026 rates. No service level beyond the list is promised.
