What the park package covers and what stays outside it

Updated 8 November 2026

KEXI's park package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest; 4D3N: IDR 750,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. Komodo National Park fees for private charter guests are never inside the boat price on Soe Besar Vanrei. We quote a park package per guest for each trip type, such as 3D2N or 4D3N, and it is paid in full with the deposit because of the daily visitor cap.

Reading the park package item by item

The park package is one line that holds three things. The first is the government entrance ticket, IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day under PP 36/2024. The second is the ranger fee, because a ranger is compulsory on the Komodo, Rinca and Padar walks. The third is the local levies. We never call the package the government ticket.

The table above gives the package per guest, foreign and Indonesian, for the trip types we sell. For other trip lengths, such as the 2D1N, we quote it with your booking. Snorkel stops are part of the entry ticket, because the separate snorkel levy was removed in October 2024.

The package is paid on top of the boat price unless your written quote says it is included. Entrance fees are payable in full at the deposit because of visitor quota limits. A harbour levy, if the harbour charges one, appears on the quote as its own line.

One package covers the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), the ranger fee and the local levies. It is quoted per guest and paid on top of the boat price, unless your quote says it is included. For other trip lengths, the desk quotes the package with your booking.

The package sum for your head count

Count heads before anything else, because the package is per guest. A foreign adult, a foreign teenager and an Indonesian grandparent are three lines at three rates, and the table shows both rates. Ask for the lines written separately, so you can see what each person costs.

The calculator below shows the government ticket alone, for 2, 4 and 10 guests across 1, 2 and 3 days. It is a floor. The package is higher because it adds the ranger and the local levies. Use the calculator to see how fast a head count multiplies, not to budget.

The ranger fee is set per group, not per person, and sits inside the package. A large party is divided into ranger groups on the walks, so ask early about the split. Caveat: the figure in force is the one on the day you pay.

Child quotes, the permit for a drone and other outside lines

No child rate appears in the fee reports we hold, so we do not state one. Ask us to quote the park for each child by age, and expect the answer in writing. The boat fare rule is separate: ages 0 to 2 travel free and the full fare applies from age 3.

Drone flights are arranged on request, and the park requires a special permit through its online system, with a fee per drone per day. Allow time well ahead, and expect no promise of footage. Personal photos with a phone or camera cost nothing. A commercial shoot needs its own permit and fee.

Other lines stay outside the boat price: guide and documentation on a private charter, quoted on request; extra drinks; tips; flights; hotels; and travel and medical insurance. Park tickets are bought online by name, with passport or ID details, so ask for the e-ticket in your name.

Closed stops and the notice we check

The park or the harbour authority can close Padar and Komodo by notice, as happened in August 2026, when only Rinca stayed open. We check the notice before sailing, and the captain substitutes a stop if one closes. What the package does for a closed day depends on the notice and the quota, and we answer that in writing.

A higher foreign fee has been discussed in public. None had been announced when we last checked, so your quote shows the figure in force on the day you pay. The daily cap of one thousand visitors since 1 April 2026 is the reason payment comes first.

The entrance ticket, the ranger and the levies sit in one line. A fixed total per guest that holds for every trip and every season does not exist; we quote per trip type.

FAQ

Is the park ticket in the boat price, and how much cash do we carry?

No. The park package is never inside a fare. We quote it per guest for the trip type and ask for it in full with the deposit, so no park cash is due on the day. Carry rupiah for tips and the town, because there are no ATMs on the islands.

Do children pay the park fee?

No child rate appears in the reports we hold, so we do not state one. Tell us each child's age and we quote the park line for them in writing. The boat fare is separate: ages 0 to 2 travel free, and the full fare applies from age 3.

How are park tickets bought, and do names have to match?

Tickets are bought online and issued by name, with passport or ID details for each visitor, and payment is non-cash. We book on your behalf and ask for passport details about a week before sailing. Ask for the e-ticket or QR code in your own name.
