What we ask for, and why

We ask for what the trip needs and for nothing that it does not. Names and a WhatsApp number let us quote and reply, and that is where most bookings stay small. Passport or ID details, collected about seven days before sailing, go on the passenger manifest that the harbour and the national park require. Flight times let us time the pickup.

Children's ages and weights decide the fare and the life-jacket sizes, which we confirm in writing. Food needs and medical conditions go on the pre-departure form so the boat can plan. You choose how much to tell us; a missing detail means we ask again, not that we refuse.

Card numbers are entered on the payment provider's own page. We do not ask for them in the chat.

Your details are read by the reservation team at Komodo Explorer in Labuan Bajo, and by no one else on the shore side. The captain receives the passenger list and the notes that affect the day: ages, food needs, anyone who needs fewer stairs. Park rangers and harbour officers see names and ID numbers where the law asks for them.

We do not sell your details. They serve your trip and our replies, nothing else.

Passport images are kept only until the trip is over and the manifest is closed. Booking and payment records stay as long as Indonesian accounting rules require. Chat history stays until you ask us to clear it, and one message is enough.

Write to us on WhatsApp and say what is wrong or what should go. We correct a detail as soon as we read the request and confirm in writing that it is done. A deletion request is answered in writing too.

Two limits apply. Records that Indonesian law obliges us to keep, such as payment records, cannot be erased on request. And a passenger list that has already been handed to the harbour cannot be recalled, though we can correct our own copy.
