Soe Besar Vanrei Phinisi
Sixteen berths, one bill, shared by several households
Updated 8 November 2026
A Komodo boat for 12 to 16 people suits an extended family or a circle of friends: Soe Besar Vanrei sleeps 16 in seven cabins, and the whole boat on 3D2N is IDR 162,000,000 (≈ USD 9,939). Sixteen guests pay IDR 10,120,000 (≈ USD 621) each; twelve on 4D3N pay IDR 20,250,000 (≈ USD 1,242) each.
Sixteen berths, split by cabin type
Five types of cabin add up to sixteen places: 2 in the Master Suite Ocean, 2 in the Master Ocean, 4 across the two Deluxe Ocean cabins, 4 across the two Superior cabins and 4 in the bunk Sharing Cabin. Every cabin has its own bathroom and air conditioning, so seven cabins mean seven bathrooms.
The split that settles fastest follows age. Grandparents go to the Master Ocean, the only cabin on the main deck. Couples take the Deluxe cabins on the upper deck, or the Master Suite Ocean with its terrace. Children and teenagers get the Sharing Cabin, two bunk beds and four single berths. A pair of parents with young children fits a Superior on the lower deck, where the portholes are small.
A seventeenth guest sleeps on the extra bed in the Master Suite Ocean and nowhere else. A party of eighteen or more needs a second boat. Beds are double, not twin, and no twin setup is published.
Caveat: the Master Suite Ocean is one cabin, so two households cannot both have the terrace.
| Cabin | Rooms | Beds | Sleeps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Master Suite Ocean | 1 | 1 double bed, plus an extra bed for a third guest | 2 |
| Master Ocean | 1 | 1 double bed | 2 |
| Deluxe Ocean | 2 | 1 double bed | 4 |
| Superior | 2 | 1 double bed | 4 |
| Sharing Cabin | 1 | 2 bunk beds (4 single berths) | 4 |
| Berths in total | 7 | 16 |
The Master Suite extra bed brings the bed count to 17. Soe Besar Vanrei is sold for 16 guests overnight on a private charter.
Per-head share when the party is eight, twelve, sixteen
The price belongs to the boat, not the head, so a smaller party pays a larger share. Three worked parties on the 3D2N whole boat, IDR 162,000,000 (≈ USD 9,939) in all:
- Eight guests: IDR 20,250,000 (≈ USD 1,242) each.
- Twelve guests: IDR 13,500,000 (≈ USD 828) each.
- Sixteen guests: IDR 10,120,000 (≈ USD 621) each.
Twelve guests on the slower 4D3N pay IDR 20,250,000 (≈ USD 1,242) each, and ten on the shortest route, 2D1N, pay IDR 8,100,000 (≈ USD 497) each. Figures are rounded to the nearest ten thousand.
What the boat price buys: the boat and its crew, meals, snorkelling gear and kayaks. Left out are the park package, quoted per trip type, drinks beyond the free-flow water, tea and coffee, tips and card fees. On a private charter a guide and documentation are not included; they are quoted on request. We say this once, here, so nobody reads the shares above as all-in.

A fourth day as spare capacity for sixteen
Sixteen people take longer than six to get off the boat, onto a beach and back aboard. A fourth day buys that time without squeezing an extra stop into every day. On the 4D3N example route the first two days keep the 3D2N stops; day three goes to Kanawa, Gili Lawa and Sebayur, and day four to Bidadari before the harbour.
Put in field terms, the extra day thins out the party at each stop. Snorkel stops can run in two shifts with nobody watching the clock, and a grandparent who skipped Padar on day two gets a gentler walk on day three.
It is an example route agreed with the captain; weather and tide set the final order. On it, twelve guests pay IDR 20,250,000 (≈ USD 1,242) each, against IDR 13,500,000 (≈ USD 828) each on 3D2N. Day one leaves from Labuan Bajo, and Bidadari is the last stop.

Booking for several households
One WhatsApp thread, one lead contact. The lead sends the month, the head count, the ages and any cabin wishes; we reply with the open dates and one boat price. How the households divide it is up to you, and the table above does the arithmetic.
The deposit is 50 percent, with the balance due 30 days before sailing. A card link carries a fee of 3 percent, PayPal 7.2 percent, and a card machine on departure day 3 percent. Pay by bank transfer and there is no card fee.
Because the park limits visitor numbers, the park package is paid in full with the deposit. Should the operator replace the boat, the replacement is of equal or higher class, on the same date, at no extra charge, or you get a full refund within 2 days.
The party plan, the names and the ages are all we need to hold a date. No date is guaranteed before the deposit lands.

Where a big party spends the hours
There are more rooms on this boat than one family uses at once, and sixteen people rotate through them. At the bow there is a jacuzzi. Cushioned loungers and day beds line the sun deck, and the chill area on the foredeck sits under a canopy. The covered open-air dining deck holds the long table and a barbecue, while the indoor saloon has a Smart TV on the wall.
At anchor in the afternoon a big party splits up on its own: some out on the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, some on the loungers in the shade, a few in the jacuzzi, and the karaoke set indoors once the rain comes. Wi-Fi is on board; speed is not guaranteed.
A sound system is not claimed beyond the karaoke set aboard. Hot water in the cabins is confirmed in writing before payment. There are seven cabins, three decks and four social spaces; crew size is not published.
FAQ
We are sixteen from three households: how do we split the cabins?
Two guests in the Master Suite Ocean, two in the Master Ocean, four across the two Deluxe Ocean cabins, four across the two Superior cabins and four in the Sharing Cabin's bunks. The main-deck Master Ocean suits grandparents, the Deluxe cabins suit couples, and children like the bunks. A seventeenth guest takes the Master Suite extra bed.
What does each of us pay if eight or sixteen share the boat?
The boat price is fixed for 1 to 16 guests, so each share depends on the head count. On 3D2N, eight guests pay IDR 20,250,000 (≈ USD 1,242) each and sixteen pay IDR 10,120,000 (≈ USD 621) each. The park package, drinks, tips and card fees come on top, and on a charter a guide and documentation are quoted separately.
Can seventeen of us sleep aboard?
Yes, on one condition: the seventeenth guest sleeps on the extra bed in the Master Suite Ocean, since the cabins hold sixteen. Eighteen or more cannot sleep aboard one boat. Put the ages in your first message and we confirm the cabin plan in writing before any payment.
How much deposit do we pay, and when is the balance due?
The deposit is 50 percent, and the balance is due 30 days before sailing. The park package is paid in full with the deposit. A card link adds 3 percent and PayPal 7.2 percent, so for a large sum a bank transfer works out cheaper. We confirm every amount in writing.
